    Product Review: Dog Med Laser

Seeing your dog in pain can be hard to deal with. Whether they have a swollen eye or they’ve just been stung by a bee, you don’t want to watch them wail in any way. Now, a new home treatment, Dog Med Laser, makes home treatment even more accessible and affordable for your furry companion.

For decades, people have used cold laser therapy to heal damaged tissues and speed up recovery. But today, the same therapy can be used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation, especially in older dogs.

Produced in Canada by Antares Technologies, manufacturer of certified medical Photo Bio Modulation lasers for humans, Dog Med Laser (DML) is a low-level laser that provides pets with a safe, affordable, and effective home treatment for pain, inflammation, and wounds.

    How Dog Med Laser works

Dog Med Laser is a type of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) also called cold laser therapy that delivers pain-free treatment for both humans and animals. This form of therapy uses light that penetrates deeply into body tissue, reducing inflammation, relieving pain, and halving healing time in the process.

    Power on the DML

Turn on the device by long-pressing the power button for a full 2 seconds until you see a green blinking light.

    Select a treatment program

The Dog Med Laser offers three treatment programs, which only takes 4 to 8 minutes.

    • Reducing inflammation: Once the device is on, select a treatment program by pressing the MODE button once for Program 1 treatment. This program helps to reduce inflammation more effectively and aids in the healing process. For best results, use for 5 minutes twice a day.
    • Pain relief: Press the same MODE button twice to access Program 2 which is best suited for treating chronic and acute pain. Use for 8 minutes twice a day to achieve optimal results.
    • Wound healing: Press the same button three times to access Program 3 treatment which is best suited for treating external wounds and injuries. To achieve better results, use for 4 minutes twice a day.

    Treat the affected area

Treat the affected area by gently brushing through with the Dog Med Laser. The device comes with two brush attachments that help separate pet hair to deliver laser light more efficiently while giving your pet a soothing massage.

The pros and cons of Dog Med Laser

One really amazing thing I like about the Dog Med Laser is the fact that it can be applied directly over an open wound or on wounds under a bandage.

Another cool thing about the DML is that unlike laser machines that are used in veterinarian offices, the Dog Med Laser does not have any risk of burning your pet, causing itching, no safety glasses needed and it can be a safer alternative over pain medications for most pets.

One thing I find most annoying about the Dog Med Laser is the price tag attached to it. It currently sells for $499, offering pet owners an affordable alternative to frequent and costly visits to the vet for laser treatments.

This price seems to be about the middle of the road with other at-home low-level lasers ranging from $100 to a few thousand dollars. But if you have pet insurance, you could check under your plans and see if the purchase of a Dog Med Laser is covered. Even if it’s not covered, the DML comes with a 90 days money-back guarantee and a 2-year warranty.

If you own a dog and wouldn’t want to see it suffer in pain, the Dog Med Laser is definitely worth the investment. Besides being very effective, it’s an easy-to-use at-home treatment anyone can use, with some pet owners already witnessing dramatic improvement.

While there are several pain relief options for your dog, it’s always best to use one that offers the best results with no side-effects and at an affordable price.

Is the Dog Med Laser worth your investment? Let me know by dropping a comment below.
