Dogs explore the world with their mouth- they get into chewing like a person gets into a book. Chewing things is a very natural behavior for dogs that benefits their brain and physical health. But, when your cute little friend turns to less appealing object to satisfy their gnawing needs, then it may be the right time to find safe chewable pet toys.

What makes a pet toy safe and chewable?

A right chewing toy can be overwhelming and healthy concern abound. It needs to feature some special qualities that are mentioned below –

    • Shows no signs of deterioration

There are a wide range of safe and durable dog toys available online from popular brands. They come in various shape and style that can fill your canine friends with lots of enjoyment and keep them engaged for hours. Although, you need to keep proper care after selection of your pet toys from the store. They should be regularly evaluated for deterioration and replaced when necessary.

What is the important of safe pet toys for your pets?

Many chew toys are made from polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC or vinyl—a cheaply manufactured rubbery plastic. So, while chewing these hard products your pets may face injuries like dental chips and broken teeth, eye and mouth injuries and foreign body injury which may be fatal.

Also, never forget to consider the size of the pet toys; right size is important as well. Anything too big or very small can be swallowed easily causing choke and gastrointestinal infection, vomiting, reluctance to eat, stretch out. A general rule is to make proper size and texture into consideration before purchasing any dog toy for your pooch.

What are the most common items extracted from pet’s stomach?

Pet toys made from harmful material can really very dangerous. The most dangerous are those which have sharp edges; they get stick to the inner linings of the stomach causing many gastrointestinal problems. Whenever you are going to choose a pet friendly toy, be attentive to these few things in the item. Check for the presence of rubber pieces, ball fragments, Cotton, Rocks, stone fruit pips, clothing, corn cobs, plastics lead and other hard items in the toys.

What is the gray side of playing sticks?

Dogs love to play and fetch sticks. They love to chase them, catch them, retrieve them and chew them. But are they safe for your four-legged friend? Not sure, right! No one can guess the downside of playing sticks that may be made up of strong wood or plastic material that can cause intestinal damages. Also, running with wooden sticks can lead to injuries in mouth and eyes. So, always find something like an outward hound which is safe and durable.

Now, why your dog loves to chew?

Dogs, especially puppies are quite investigative and playful in nature. This behavioral characteristic allows them to socialize with other dogs, which later helps in social development and behavioral changes, exploration and playing habit improvement. The dogs learn about their environment and people easily. Therefore, if you ever see dogs sniffing their object, tasting and perhaps chewing them, consider it very normal. Sometimes dogs chew things out boredom and hunger (as in garbage raiding), playing (as in the dog that chews apart a book or couch), teething (dogs 3 to 6 months of age that chew on household objects), or satisfying a natural urge to chew and gnaw (which may serve to help keep teeth and gums healthy). Sometimes dog chew things in order to seek attention. Some pet owners reward their dogs for chewing things and doing destructive behavior. It needs to keep in mind  that the destructive behavior of your four-legged pooch are result of boredom and stress, The lack of proper exercise and boredom can lead to illness and obesity among the pet dogs. Sooner, your dog will lose interest in any other physical activity that will keep them healthy. And, one of the best ways to keep them in active and energetic both inside and outside the houses is the buying pet toys online.

Chew toys are just the best solution for dogs to keep their mind engaged and diverted from destructive behavior. If you ever notice signs of arousal or anxiety, boredom, sickness or state of conflict, feel free to consult experts. Or, match with above mentioned condition.
